I checked my account on Zii.com this morning looking to see if there was any new information regarding the Zii and when it might be shipped. I checked the download section for the SDK and it still told me to come back after the item was shipped for access to the downloads. This was no surprise. It's been telling me that since the day i placed the order.
What had changed was the order status once i checked my order history. Up until recently it listed my order as "New Order", but today it has it listed as "Back Orders". Could this mean that the Zii EGG development device has begun shipping? If you look around enough you'll be able to find it mentioned that the Zii EGG is set to ship in the second half of August, so perhaps it has. We'll know soon enough as orders begin to arrive at developers and OEMs door steps and the reviews and first impressions come in.
I hope that my order doesn't stay in "Back Orders" for long, but if it is then at least give me access to the SDK I purchased and let me start familiarizing myself with it.

I contacted Zii support last week to ask about the Back Order status and they gave me the standard "We will have the Zii EGGs ready to ship by the end of the month" reply they've been giving out. They also told me that The SDK is bundled with the Zii EGG and because such I'm unable to get it before I receive my EGG. They notified me that my order had been placed on the priority list and that I would be receiving the EGG and the SDK soon. Hopefully it'll be on it's way here soon. I'm anxious to see what it can do.
